Nina Healy became involved in the Learning Disabilities Association of Colorado over 10 years ago when she was given assistance in navigating the public school system to gain access to special education services for her son. The mother of two sons who are now in college, she began this volunteer commitment when she realized how difficult the process was and how intimidating it could be for families. Between answering phone calls, attending workshops, and assisting with advocacies, Nina has been an active volunteer. Most recently, she has worked on the partnership that LDAC has entered into with the University of Denver Disability Services. As President since 2002 she has led LDAC through many changes. Nina has lived in Colorado for over 30 years and continues to work time in her profession as a Certified Hand Therapist. |
